Review of Ziaja SenSitive Soothing Day Cream and Micellar Water

Hi Pretty people!

Once again,I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend! It's hard to believe that it's been a week since my last post, but in that time I was shopping in Dublin and have some amazing buys to show you guys in the weeks to come! I also took on foster kittens, who at this moment are having a great time chasing my fingers across the keyboard! If anyone can give a kitten a good home let me know!:)

Molly and Charlie helping me write!

I would also like to dedicate this post to my wonderful friend Zoe who's 21 today. Its such a pain in the a•• I couldn't make it due to stupid train and bus systems, but I hope you've a wonderful day hun:)

Ok, so on to the review! As the title would suggest, this review is on Ziaja's SenSitive skin day cream and miscellar water. I have done a review on the enzyme peel product from this range before and was so happy with it I decided to try these out. Ziaja is a Polish range, which has several, very affordable lines and can be bought in most chemists and online. I'll leave the link for the Irish online store below.

The miscellar water is €4.99 for 200mls, is ph balanced, dermatologically and allergy tested and has 0% parabens, alcohol or perfume. It's active ingredients are provitamin B5 and allantoin, which is an anti irritant and has moisturising properties. You apply to the skin with cotton pads and there's no need to rinse. So does it do the job?

You're still going to need an eye make up remover with this for a start, but it is very good at removing other makeup. When I first purchased this I used it as my general face cleanser, and to be honest I wasn't thrilled with the results. During the day I did notice my skin was looking very oily around the chin area, and I felt had to use the water to cleanse again. In fairness to the product at the moment I am really struggling with blockages and lumps on the right side of my face, and my chin and nose always have black heads. Ironically, I read an article about the bacteria on your phone possibly causing spots and since I have started using my head phones, it has definitely made a difference! Get that anti bacterial wipe now

Eeeeeeew!

So instead of using the miscellar water as a skin cleanser I have just been using it to remove make up and it does a lovely job. I think if you had good sensitive skin this would be lovely for you, as it did leave the non problematic areas of my skin really soft and clean, but its just too gentle to tackle my problem areas. I would defienitly recommend using this in preference of a face wipe if you're too tired to  'double cleanse' at any stage. It's very economical as you don't need to use too much of this product, and it is brilliant at taking off face makeup. Bottom line, I will be repurchasing this as it is an excellent, good value make up remover that leaves behind no residue and isn't full of harsh chemicals.

On to the Soothing Day Cream! It retails at €6.99 for 50ml, is ph balanced,  has no silicones, mineral oil or perfume, has an SPF of 20 and protects from UVA and UVB rays. This product is marketed for sensitive, dry and itchy skin, which it doesn't point out on the front of the box! Due to this it is just too heavy for my skin, and reminds me of a lighter formulation of aqueous cream. I think is not so much for sensitive skin, as for dry skin that suffers irritations and can't cope with chemicals. Unless you actually have this type of skin, rather than just sensitive skin, I wouldn't recommend this product. It is a pity as this product has a lot going for it and if they brought this out in a milk version I would definitely try it.

So, there's my honest opinion on these products! Has anyone else tried out this range, or other lines in the range? What did people think? Can anyone help me on my quest to find a good moisturiser?!

Enjoy what ever you get up to this weekend and lots of love from me, Charlie and Molly!xxxx

Real Techniques Review

   Hey Pretty people!

I hope everyone's having a lovely weekend! Its pouring rain outside, so I decided it was perfect weather to write a review I'd promised on instgram, while having Dispicable Me2 playing in the background. Yes, it's very tragic, I love minions. There I said it! They are they funniest little yellow things on the face of this earth! I may even have a little minion collection, I may not.I'm saying nothing. Hehe bottom!

Complimentary minion pic!

Moving swiftly onwards! The products I'm reviewing today are Real Techniques brushes and their beauty blender. These brushes are made by the YouTube beauty gurus Sam and Nic Chapmen, whom I'm pretty sure need no real introduction due to their insane popularity. The girls also created videos to go with their products in order to help you get the best results. I really like this principal, as for many people, the makeup artist makes it look so simple in the store and then when you get home you're looking at the product with not a freaking clue how to make the best of what you've just bought! Also these brushes are quite reasonably priced and I think the most expensive in the range is €16.99. They're available in larger Boots stores and online. I'll leave both links below.

Shading Brush: This brush was €10.49 in Boots. Ok, straight off, I don't really use this brush. I wasn't hugely impressed by it as I felt it didn't apply as much colour as I wanted on the lids. It can also be used to apply the crease colour but again I felt it just didn't apply the colour to the level of intensity I wanted. I did use this recently to apply a cream eye shadow base, and it did a really good job, so I think I may start reaching for it again, but only for this purpose. It is a very soft brush and doesn't drag the eye lids, and for some reason I really like the fact the brush is thin and not as long as other makeup brushes. I think it's because it allows you to get up close to the mirror with out smacking the brush off it, and then into your eye. Or maybe thats just me. I would recommend this for someone who simply wants a wash of colour, or for someone who uses cream based eye products.

Expert Face Brush: This brush was €13.29 in Boots. Its quite firm, as in when you push down on the bristles they don't splay out everywhere, but they are soo soft! This is designed for application of and blending liquid and cream foundation. I wasn't too impressed with this for applying and blending liquid foundation, but recently I purchased Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse to use as a contour product, and it works so well with this! It applies and blends the mousse so easily and effectively. I always get a bit worried about applying contour colour as I'm so pale and dread that 'dirty face streak' but this brush blends it seamlessly into my skin. Use a light hand with this brush as because it's firm, you could end up dragging the skin if you're too heavy handed. You could possible even use this to gently press powder onto the face, though not around the eyes. I would absolutely recommend this brush to anyone who uses mousse, cream or even wax based products.

Blush Brush: This was €12.99 in Boots. Ok, this brush in my opinion is way too big for a blush brush. It's about twice the size of a normal blush brush and closer in size M.A.C.s 150 which is a big brush! In it's favour however this brush is soooo soft and the shape of it reminds me of a blender brush as its cut in a dome shape. I personally use this brush to apply colour all over my face as the shape is perfect for going around the eye and nose area and again, it's so soft on the face! This applies powder without causing a lot of fall out or leaving you with the over powdered look. I'd definitely recommend this brush to anyone and everyone:)

Miracle Complexion Sponge: This is €5.89 in Boots.(There were all bought in Boots in case you've not cottoned on to that yet!-_-) Oh wow...I just love this sponge. I'd marry it and have it's little sponge babies if I could! This is the Real Techniques take on the original Beauty Blender. I have to admit I was late to this whole beauty blender phenomena. I used a sponge when I was much younger to apply makeup, and I just thought sponges were so 90's! But when I saw this for under €6 and I was looking for a new way to apply my foundation I thought why not? I'm delighted I did! I don't know the science of how this sponge works, but when you run this under water it swells to about three times its regular size. You squeeze it out and then use it to apply foundation, cream blush, liquid highlighter, concealer, pretty much anything that isn't powder based really! It can be used for blending as well as application and is flawless at both. I recently bought a second sponge for applying and blending my liquid highlight, and my mother who was so impressed with the results also decided to buy one, and is so far a huge fan!

So. Is there anything I don't like about the range over all? Well, just silly things. I keep all my brushes in a jar like container and because the ends of the face brushes are larger they do take up a lot of room. My only complaint about the sponge is it does seem to stain easily and this can make it look like you've not been bothered to wash it. Not major things really and I still would have no problems recommending this range to anyone!:)

I hope this post was helpful and answered any questions people may have had about these products. Has anyone else had experience, either positive or negative, with Real Techniques?  Also has anyone tried out their new make up pallets? It feels like eeeveryones got a palette on the market these days! Think I'll look into releasing one myself.....

Thanks so much for reading !:)

Current Favourite Products For My Mane:)

       Hi Pretty People!!

As a collective, us beauty enthusiasts love looking at other people's beauty buys. Wether it be hauls or the ever popular 'whats in my makeup bag' post, we love to have a good virtual rummage through other people's beauty items. So I decided to jump on this bandwagon and start off with one that I personally don't see a lot of; hair care.

I suppose I should really give you a bit of background on my hair so you know just how much abuse it was put through! I have dyed and bleached and re dyed my hair a lot over the years, been most styles and of the colours of the rainbow,  but I'm not really a fan of hot tools or hairdryers so I think I saved myself some breakage that way. I have quite fine, naturally blonde hair, but quite a bit of it. At the moment I'm my natural blonde with dip dyed purple ends, after being fully purple for quite a while. I wasn't able to manage the colour maintenance in hospital as I don't think they'd appreciate splashes of purple all over the bathroom!

So back to blonde I went, well bleached back to blonde I went, with mixtures of lowlights. This was all about six months ago but as anyone who has ever had their hair bleached will know, the process does serious damage to your hair and it will take a while for the hair to recover. Afterwards my hair was dry, brittle and tangled with no real lustre to it, which gave me plenty of excuses, I mean reasons, to try out products to bring my hair back to life!

So after a lot of testing these are the products I found the best:)

Shampoo:

Garnier Ultimate Blends The Marvellous Transformer:
This is a relatively new range on the market, and initially I wasn't attracted to its cheapy looking packaging but after getting a sample I must admit I fell completely in love with it. Theres no parabens, and it contains argan and camellia oils and is designed for dry, dull hair. Its very good value, comes in two sizes and be purchased in the supermarket with matching conditioners, which I've yet to try out. You don't need a lot of product to create a lather, which leaves the hair clean and smelling beautiful. It does require a conditioner though afterwards if you have very dry hair. I'd definitely recommend to try out this range as it really works and is very affordable. Available in supermarkets.

La Roche-Posay Physiological Gel Shampoo:
Every now and then, usually when I'm stressed, I get a sort of acne on my scalp which can be quite painful. This shampoo was recommended to me as it's suitable for very sensitive scalp and is gentle enough to use even on children. Its paraben and silicon free and like all La Roche-Posay products is made with thermal spring water. It does take quite a bit of product to work up a lather, but its great for removing build up on the scalp and makes my hair very bright and clean looking. However, this product seems to strip quite a bit of colour out of the hair, and I wouldn't recommend it for every day use for coloured hair. Its a bit pricey but well worth it and I'll always keep a bottle of this in my bathroom. La Roche-Posay is available in selected chemists and online.

Mask:

Wella System Professional Hair Mask:
It was only when I was putting this list together that I realised I don't have a conditioner I really like. Generally as well as using it as a mask, this product doubles up as a conditioner for me. The consistency of this is quite thick and you only need a small amount of product, which is just as well as it on on the higher end of the price spectrum. It has a nice gentle smell that reminds me of the hairdressers, which makes sense as this can only be purchased in salons! It recommends to leave this in towel dried hair for five minutes, but I've often left it in for longer. Just a quick side note, I tried the shampoo from the same range and felt it left my hair very tangled and dry, so just give the mask a go. Available in selected salons, but I purchased mine on E-bay.

Oils:

Penny/Primark Hask Argan Oil:
This product is so cheap and cheerful. It has a very thick consistency almost viscous, is orange in colour, and smells lovely. I have used the Moroccan Hair Oil, but it's so expensive and I find this stuff does the trick just as well for a fraction of a fraction of the price tag of Moroccan Oil! Less is generally more, unless you have very thick hair and only put this at the ends. Available from Pennys/Primark. (Even the small ones, yippee!)

L'oreal Elvive Extraordinary Oil:
I reckon this is L 'Oreal's dupe of Moroccan oil, and again it's a brilliant product. This is available in most supermarkets, and there is sometimes a offer on this line. There is also a formula for coloured and fine hair, but this one is just the original. This oil smells divine and is not too heavy for my thin hair. I simply apply this on towel dry hair and just leave it for a few minutes to work its magic! My only complaints about this is its a pump, glass bottle. I hate pump bottles as I never feel you can get all the product out and,I don't really see why it is has to be a glass bottle. Maybe to keep the Moroccan Oil dupe theme going? Either way it makes it heavy to carry on holidays or weekends away but still it won't stop me from repurchasing! Available in supermarkets and chemists.

Hair Brush:

Tangle Teezer:
I honestly don't know how this brush works, but it does! I bought this out of sheer desperation as I couldn't get any brush through my hair in the first few weeks after bleaching, and heard this got great reviews. I don't think I could ever not have one of these, and I can't see why or how it would break. Its ergonomically designed (that means its comfy in your hand) and made completely of plastic. There's several different variations and colours available, sadly I just have boring black:( Its very easy to clean, and simply does what it says on the tin! Available in Boots and some chemists.

Denman Grooming Brush:
This brush is great for smoothing hair and I often use this after back combing. Its also good for removing tangles with out pulling on the hair too much.I love this brush so much because thanks to it's natural bristles it manages to take a fluffy mop of hair and make it smooth and controlled looking! It is expensive but I think especially, when you have problems with your hair its worth spending some money on brushes, and Denman is a time-tested successful brand.  Available in Boots and most chemists.

Styling Products:

Lee Stafford Sea Salt Spray: I love the beachy waves tossed look and this spray is the best I've come across. I've not tried the cult Bumble and Bumble one yet though. I do have a love hate relationship with this spray I must admit. It creates the really wonderful tossed look I love so much and it smells gorgeous, and the smell does linger in your hair. However, it leaves me with horrible tangles the next day which have to be washed out, the product makes the hair itself dryer and fades hair colour.  This seems to be the price you pay for using these types of sprays. It's only something I would use on occasions but I still love this. Available in most Boots.

Fructis Hairspray: This hair spray has a few different variations and I love the Crystal Resist version. Its very affordable and holds. It can't be brushed out like the Elnett, and can make the hair a little crunchy, but once you put this on your style it does.not.move. End of. This is great for backcombing and up dos or sleek pony tails, but may not be as good for curls as it is slightly crunchy. It also doesn't dull the colour of the hair. Available from supermarkets and chemists.

Redken Rootful 06: This spray is great for giving hair a bit of life and movement without weighing it down. It has a 'precision application' nozzle, which means you can apply it direct to the roots of the hair. Great for layered hair. After towel drying, I flip my hair upside down and try to separate the layers in my hair and apply the spray to the roots. I found even when I don't blow dry the hair this spray still gives volume. Available in salons.

The Hair Product I Can Not Live Without!

Revlon 2phase Detangling Spray: Saving the best for last! This is my all time favourite hair care product. This spray detangles when nothing else can work and leaves no residue on the hair. It acts as a leave in conditioner and makes a huge difference in the condition and strength of the hair. This comes in several sizes, formulations and there is also shampoo and conditioner which I have yet to try. Just shake the bottle to mix the two 'phases' together and spray onto towel dried hair. When my hair was in very poor condition or slightly tangled I used this on dried hair also. I.love.this.product.  Definitely on my desert island list. Available in certain salons and salon supply stores. Go buy it. Like Now.

However! There is a new product Revlon are marketing as the new and improved 2phase, Uniq1. This spray is supposed to do everything the 2phase does and more. Believe me, it doesn't. It has a horrible heavy, cream texture which doesn't spray well and the nozzle often clogs. It doesn't detangle or improve the condition of the hair nor is it easy to apply,  and I'm afraid its just been left sitting on my shelf.  Revlon, stick to the original, it is the best.

       My hair dresser, in the wonderful Lunatic Fringe on Grafton Street in Dublin, gave me some tips which I'm kindly going to share with you;
Use products on your hair when it is mostly wet, not towel dried, and only on the ends.
Don't brush your hair until its 80% dry, its very prone to breakage when its wet.
Even when rough drying use a nozzle on the hair dryer or other wise the hair just gets blown around in all directions and will be harder to style after.
Massage the scalp gently while shampooing rather than scrubbing. This will encourage blood flow and growth and also cause less damage to the hair.

So that's my recommendations and tips! These products would suit almost any hair type and while some are a bit expensive, they're mostly budget friendly. Has anyone else tried these products? Or even better, does anyone else have any other recommendations? Hope you guys try some of them and let me know how you get on:)

Much love! xx

Elemis Enzyme Peel VERSUS Ziaja's Sensitive Skin Enzyme peeling mask

        Hi pretty people!

So I'm back with a sort of double review; think of it as expensive versus affordable.I'll give you a little background on how I wound up purchasing these products. My skin is  quite sensitive, but I also suffer with quite a bit of congestion, (blackheads, little lumps ect, but not spots) around the nose and chin area. Over the years I've tried a lot of products designed for acne on these areas, which was not a bright idea as congestion is not the same as acne, and all this left me with some nasty skin damage.

When I got a bit older I started to do some research into products more suitable for my complaint. As a result I tried lots of products; nose strips, tea tree, salicylic acid and did a lot of exfoliation with apricot kernels! I also did loads of home extractions,(with water that was much too hot and never with a tissue!)while really not having a clue what I was doing, and therefore breaking capillaries and probably making the situation worse! I'd begun to hear a bit about chemical peels but it all sounded a bit nuts, and was waaaay out of my price range. Anyways, I'm sure you're sick of my rambling so I'll get straight to it!

I eventually came across fruit enzymes. Enzymes are exfoliants which break down the upper dead skin cells but are much kinder to your skin than the likes of scrubs and micro dermabrasion.  Look out for papaya, blueberry and pineapple as ingredients in your peels or cleansers, and no don't go and rub a slice of pineapple over your face, I don't think that works quite the same way!!

I purchased a small sample of Elemis's Papaya Peel mask from E-bay, as it seemed to be the best product on the market for my problem. Many beauty items are seriously expensive and it can be hit and miss, especially when it comes to skin care. So when I got the hang of E-bay I started to purchase travel size products I wanted to try out and have saved quite a bit this way.

This stuff smells gorgeous, really fruity with a cream constancy.  I applied to cleansed skin and left it for about 15 minutes, and removed with lukewarm water which is in line with the product guidelines. It's a little tingly on the skin and there is defiantly a glow to the skin afterwards. In the morning however, I had developed a spot and my glow was gone! I tried the mask a few times and sadly the same result every time. I honestly can't say I was that impressed. Coupled with the €38 price tag for 50ml according to the  bliss.ie website, I couldn't justify recommending this. However, apart from the spot it didn't cause my skin any problems. I'll leave a link below as to where you can purchase it online if you'd like to try it out.

Recently I came across the Polish brand Ziaja. As a brand it is generally getting great reviews, and they do a SenSitive Skin range, which has it's own enzyme peel. It has no silicones, mineral oils or perfumes which I thought might make it too gentle to be very effective, but with a €4.99 price tag for 60ml I decided to give it a try. It obviously has no smell and is a gel consistency. It left my skin with a lovely glow which lasted with no clogged pores. I was so impressed with this product I decided to purchase other products from the line, which I'm very happy with and will write reviews on when I have tried them out for a bit longer. This brand has quite a few lines, including one for mature skin and is available in most chemists, but I'll link the online store below.

I bought these products both to deal with blackheads and as with many products they help temporarily, but the blackheads always come back. I'm not sure if any product can 'cure' blackheads as such, but I am going to try treat them as much as possible with a good skin care routine. Both of these peels cause temporary sensitivity of the skin, so I would recommend using a very simple moisturiser and avoiding sun beds or applying makeup immediately after.

Oh LORD! Doesn't she have terrible skin?!

So the inexpensive product wins out this time, and I feel I have discovered a bit of a gem in the Ziaja line. How do other people deal with their blackheads and congestion while having sensitive skin? Has anyone discovered a secret product or method they'd care to share with us all?

Thank you so much for taking the time to read the article and I hope it was of some help!

Have a lovely weekend:) xx

Small Update, which actually turned into a long one!!

Hi pretty people!!

I just wanted to check in and say hello as I realised today that its been almost a week since I posted anything. I really don't want to be one of those blog people that only post things once a month, especially when I actually have time on my hands!

So a few things have been going on. Probably the most important issue has been an addition to my medication. Generally, I am on 20mg of Lexapro a day to help control my depression and anxiety.  I have tried coming off this medication before and trying other tablets, but so far this has been the most successful one for me. I have no medical training and can only speak about my own experiences  but I will leave links to details on it down below. However, my anxiety was still a huge problem. When I went back for my first review appointment after leaving hospital I discussed how bad things had been with my team; at one point I couldn't leave the house for a week and shook badly every time I did leave the house in general, I couldn't eat in public and so on, so it was not much of a quality of life. Despite my previous negative experiences with the drug my team asked me to try Lyrica, again I will leave links below to the details of the drug. Unsurprisingly, I was very nervous taking it, as I had had problems with it before, but my team explained to me these were probably caused by the cocktail of drugs I was on, and also how the drug had been prescribed for me, i.e. I should have been put on it at a much slower pace.

So this initially started at 50mg a day, and we increased the dose slowly over a month, until I was taking 200mg a day. I personally feel they have made a huge improvement when it comes to my anxiety. They have allowed me to say yes to things which may have frightened me previously and I would not even of attempted to do. When I was going through the first few days of the dose increase I did feel slightly sleepy but this stopped, and other wise I have had no side effects at all. I think with Lyrica you may not even notice the effects yourself but people around me have defiantly mentioned the difference to me.

Monday of this week I had to travel to Dublin to see my team to review how I was getting on with the medication. I had been to a 21st birthday party Saturday and was too tired to travel Sunday, which meant travelling up really early to Dublin Monday morning. I know some of my triggers for causing me problems and setting me back and lack of sleep is number one on the list! So I got up at 6am Monday morning, travelled for about four hours to see my team, saw two friends and eventually arrived home that night at 10.30pm after another four hours of travelling. Now, for people who are well travelled or don't suffer with tiredness that might be fine. However I am still shattered now and its Wednesday evening. Also my team decided to raise my dose again of the Lyrica but this time by 100mg a day, which is a much faster increase than I am used to. I'm back to taking naps during the day and because there's also a virus going around our house I feel utterly crap at the moment. I don't think crap is a medical term but it's defiantly a human term everyone can understand!

Also I have officially decided to go back to college. This was a huge decision for me because even though I really want to go back, I'm very nervous about doing it and I know right now I'm not ready to go back and I am really hoping I wont feel that way come September. Also most of the people I know have graduated (which in some cases is GREAT!), and my best friend in college and all her lovely friends are going abroad (I'll miss you Zoe!) so really I'll know no one, which is pretty nerve-wracking. I worry sometimes too I won't be able for the course after being away for a year coupled with the fact it's my final year and so much depends on it. In life though you have to look for the positives, and my college have been very supportive (go D.C.U!) and I'm hoping to make new friends and trying to look at it all as a fresh start:) I think a lot of students go through these worries, and hopefully I won't have to face them alone.

Recently, there have been people in my life that deep down I have known all along were not the type of people I really wanted to be friends with, but because I didn't have a whole load of company my judgement was impaired. These people have dragged me down, made me feel unworthy, lied to me (but apparently with good reason!) and greatly upset me, despite never meaning to. They're clingy and when they came to visit my home house I had to speak to them about how they treated my parents, never a good thing!! If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen my rant about this which put all the anger and frustration I feel into words. I have been trying to distance myself from these people, but because at times I am too soft for my own good I am struggling with the situation still and it is taking a lot out of me. I'll keep you updated....

I suppose really what I'm trying to say is that I am shattered. I still love, love doing this blog, and it means the world to me to think people have read it,  I have just been so tired recently and every time I went to the computer to write something, I just couldn't even think, and I did not want to write crap for the sake of it. Though I'm not sure this isn't what I've done now! I just wanted to explain to people things have been tough. I guess as well to remind people that mental health is a tough topic, and when you suffer with it every day tasks can become huge issues.  If there is someone in your life like that remind to be patient with them and to support them as much as possible. Heck, be patient with everyone and support them!

I don't know if people will read this, and a massive thank you to those that do:) I have quite a few beauty reviews coming so looking forward to seeing you all for those.

Much love and hugs! x

NYX Cosmetics eye shadow base in 'Skin Tone'

Hi pretty people!

Today I'm doing a review on NYX's eye shadow base. Sadly, NYX is not readily available in Ireland, so I purchased this from Littlewoods website. They do have a decent selection of NYX on the website, which can be a problem on other websites which stock the brand. However, I noticed that they also stock Rimmel's Wake Me Up foundation which retails for €10, but they're charging a whopping €15 for exactly the same foundation!! Keep an eye out for this when purchasing make up from them. Since I purchased the base, I have since found it retails for €6.99. Not impressed -_-

I bought the shadow base in 'Skin Tone' at €8 for 6g. It promises to 'Hold, intensify and last longer',  which is not the best English and a strange way to describe a product! First of all, I really like the packaging; its in a heavy plastic, screw top jar which means you really get the last of the product which can be difficult with some forms of packaging. I'm so not a fan of pump bottles you can't open, I mean you can see there's product left but can't get to it!!! Or the bottles you've to take a crash course in physics in to learn how to somehow balance upside down to draaaaaaain the last bit out. Sorry, I digress! However when I looked at the colour my first thought was 'No one has skin that colour!' There is a distinctive orange tone to the product which when blended, does subside slightly, but is still definitely orange! This wasn't a huge concern for me as I use mostly coppery shades on my eyes anyway, but there's no way I'd purchase this colour again, and it is not suitable for pale skin tones.

Colour of the Shadow Base
The texture of the base is creamy and a bit tacky, and does take a bit of work to spread over the lids so this formula may not be good for people with very sensitive skin or delicate crepe-y eye lids. Yes crepe-y is a word; I hope! You don't need a lot of the product to cover the eyelids which makes it quite good value for money.

To be honest I don't think this made a huge difference to my eye shadow, and I'm not sure what else there is to say about this product. I used M.A.Cs woodwinked all over my lids over the base and this picture is taken at the end of the day.

Ignore the wrinkles!

It's a reasonable product, I like the packaging and the colour of the base suits my every day eyeshadow, but I would definitely recommend choosing one of the other two colours, white or pearl, if you generally wear a lighter colour eye. It is quite cheap at only €8 (its even better at RRP€6.99!) and would be a good starter base for eye shadow. I will continue to use it though until I find the perfect eye shadow base!

Has anyone else tried this product and had a different experience? Also can anyone please please tell me where I can purchase the full range of NYX cosmetics? I know they can be shipped from their website but I would like to be able to see in Euros what I'm buying, and I think you need a USA street address for this??

I hope you enjoyed this and it was helpful to someone. Thanks so much for taking the time to read it, and please feel free to contact me or follow me on Instagram. Byeeeeeeeee :D xxxxxxx
